In Every Christian’s Journey…
In every Christian’s journey, it is tempting to paint a masterpiece of what perfect faith looks like. Yet you are not the painter! It is an honest and endearing pursuit to feel correct in your walk in The Lord.
But the complexity of the different denominations over the years may not exclusively come from God, it also comes from his people. AKA man’s ideation of God versus God, as God stands independent of us.
A way to ‘sniff test’ this is asking what Jesus would do.
Do you think that if Jesus came back today, what would he have to say about the people whom partake in communion? What would he say to ones who believe what they drink and eat is actually Jesus’s blood and bones? What would he say to the believers who literally taste his blood and bones? What would he say to the people who know conceptually it is His blood and bone, yet they also know that it is a plastic cup of juice ‘provided by Sysco?
What would Jesus say to the believers gathering together and singing song after song about his unending grace? Would Jesus come and say “what you are doing is praise, NOT worship!”
If Jesus were to come back today, do you think he would vote conservative and own guns?
